OAKHURST — Prepare for a fun evening of friendship, woman-power and loads of laughter as Branches Books & Gifts welcomes Becky Elder of Whitney, Texas. Becky is co-author of: Red Thong Strong: Girlfriends’ Little Secrets to Smoothing Life’s Panty Lines. The author’s event takes place Thursday, Sept. 15 from 6 to 8 p.m.
In Red Thong Strong, eight Texas women reveal how even a little red thong can make a big impact on life. It’s a book that’s said to be both inspirational and informative, offering a lighthearted and realistic look at hot-button women’s issues, with tips for achieving longevity in both life and friendships.
The women were brought together by faith, fellowship, and a thing for fashion, they say. The book is about ways to make and nurture friendships, deal with unexpected detours, and celebrate life’s ages and stages. The authors tell us they’re on a mission to motivate readers to adopt a bold, assertive, “Red Thong Strong” attitude toward reinvention and joy.

Red Thong Strong authors Becky Elder, Charlotte Hill, Linda Storer, Debbi Comparin, Terri Jutras, Bev Mann, Shelley Tyler, and Debbie Williams met in a young marrieds’ Sunday school class. Thirty years later, they continue to keep each other accountable, grounded, and sane. When not in writing sessions, they’re serving as each other’s personal stylists, planning stress-free girlfriend getaways, and hosting Pinterest-worthy parties. They meet weekly to encourage, inspire, and support each other. This is their first book.
