NORTH FORK — The North Fork Chamber of Commerce invites everyone to an important informational presentation on the Madera County proposed Public Safety Sales Tax.
As residents of the county consider whether to support a one cent sales tax to fund the Madera County Fire Department and Sheriff’s Office, outreach is underway to inform the public on the state of the fire department, what will be required to build it up, and what a sales tax would be used for.
There will be a Power Point presentation on Monday, Sept. 12, at 6 p.m. at North Fork CDC Conference Room at the Old Mill Site, 57839 Road 225. The presentation is estimated to last about 45 minutes, and will cover in detail how tax dollars would be spent every year.
There will time for questions from the public, and light refreshments will be provided.
