Phone Service Disrupted In Some Mariposa Co. Communites

Mariposa County Sheriff badge thumbnailMARIPOSA COUNTY – The Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office is notifying residents that all phone lines are down for those areas serviced by the Hornitos Telephone Company TDS.

The AT&T main service line, as well as the backup fiber optic lines, were cut in the Stockton area. Several Central Valley counties and cities have been affected.

AT&T and TDS are aware and working on the situation. Currently TDS callers can call other TDS customers.

There is no estimated time for service to be restored.

TDS has re-routed all TDS 911 calls to the local Hornitos Cal Fire Station.

TDS customers should not have any issues calling 911 from their land line phones. Should a TDS customer experience an issue with 911, they can dial the Cal Fire Station directly at 209-376-2323, FOR EMERGENCIES ONLY.  A Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office dispatcher has been staffed there to receive all 911 calls.

The Sheriff’s Office will update as they receive information.
