Painting Workshop At The Brush Bar In Mariposa

MARIPOSA — The Mariposa County Arts Council is excited to announce four new dates for the adult workshop and fundraiser “Brush Bar @ The Alley.”

Brush Bar is a fundraising painting workshop with step-by-step instruction and wine. Participants will take home a beautiful finished painting, ready to hang on the wall.

Proceeds will help fund the Artist in the Schools program, which places a resident artist in every Mariposa County 5th grade classroom each spring.

Summer Brush Bar dates are July 27, Aug. 3 and Aug. 10 at The Alley’s shaded outdoor patio, and Aug. 8 at the Chocolate Soup Garden in downtown Mariposa. Instruction is from 6 – 8 p.m. Local painter and college art instructor, Moira Donohoe, will lead the workshop.

Participants are welcome to arrive 15 minutes early to select wine, meet the instructor and other participants, and ask questions. Instruction begins at 6 p.m.

The cost is $45 for Mariposa County Arts Council Members and $50 for non-members. This cost includes all materials, professional instruction, and one full glass of house red or white wine.

Participants must register at least one week in advance. The Arts Council encourages prospective participants to sign up early as seats are limited. Participants can also earn one additional glass of wine by signing up two friends.

Registration can be completed at the Arts Council’s online shop, which can be found at: www.mariposaartscouncil.org. Please contact the Arts Council at (209) 966-3155 or at phillips@mariposaartscouncil.org with any questions.

The MARIPOSA COUNTY ARTS COUNCIL, INC. is an incorporated not-for-profit organization, created to promote and support all forms of the cultural arts, for all ages, throughout Mariposa County and is funding in part by Mariposa County, the California Arts Council, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
