The week began with a tough game at Liberty for the girls soccer team. The teams were playing for first place and looked to be a real showdown, but Liberty demonstrated why they have won two section championships. Liberty won the match 5-1.

On Tuesday the girls soccer team had an opportunity to rebound from their loss on Monday. They took full advantage of the visiting Chowchilla Redskins and won the game 5-1. That same evening, the girls basketball team continued to do well in league and punished the visiting team.

Wednesday brought the boys Soccer and Basketball teams from Chowchilla to our mountain. The soccer team played a very tough game, but in the end the Redskins prevailed. The boys basketball team, on the other hand, played with a vengeance and beat the Redskins soundly.

Thursday found the Kerman girls soccer and basketball teams coming to town. Both the Yosemite soccer team and basketball team won in resounding fashion. The soccer team scored six goals in their match.

Friday was a big night for basketball. The Kerman Lions and Yosemite Badgers boys basketball teams were meeting for the first time in league. Both teams were playing to determine who was going to be the leader of the league by the end of the evening. Unfortunately for our Badgers, Kerman won and maintained their league leading record. The boys soccer team followed the basketball team and lost, but the girls basketball team avenged the boys by beating the girls team from Chowchilla.

YHS CROPPEDAs the second half of the season begins, we have a few teams that are poised to do well and make it to the playoffs. The boys basketball team is in second place, the girls soccer team is in second place and the girls basketball team is in second place as well. All of these teams have the potential to move up and go deep into the post season.

This week all teams are away at Sierra until Thursday. Thursday evening the Lady Badger Soccer team will host Liberty. This will be a very important game so come out and cheer for the ladies.
