On Thursday, Mar. 3 the Badger boys golf team took on the Central Bears at River Creek Golf Course in Ahwahnee. Without a couple of their starters they made a good showing, but fell short.

The boys tennis team played Edison at home, but lost a close match. The tennis team is rebuilding after their North Sequoia League (NSL) Championship last year.

On that same day, both the varsity and junior varsity boys baseball teams made it into the championship game. Unfortunately the games were canceled because of the rain.

This last week we battled the elements as well, but most of teams had a chance to participate in their games.

On Tuesday, Mar. 7, almost all of the teams competed.

Baseball was in Firebaugh and played a good game until the late innings and lost.

Softball played Fresno High and is continuing to develop their team.

The swim team hosted San Joaquin Memorial and did very well.

The boys golf team hosted their fundraising PowerPlay golf tournament at River Creek Golf Course. The winning team was Spencer Uzzell and Michael Stieler from Yosemite High.

Finally, the Boys tennis team played a close match against Hoover, but lost 7-5.

On Wednesday, Mar. 9, the boys golf team opened up league play and hosted the first NSL tournament at River Creek. Yosemite won the team competition and Spencer Uzzell was the low medalist shooting a 38.

That same day the girls junior varsity softball team began their play in the Madera softball tournament. They split the two games they played, winning their first game of the season and then losing the second.

The boys tennis team played a match against Madera and competed well.

Thursday, Mar. 10, the boys golf team was at it again with a match against Clovis East, and the softball team was at Caruthers.

On Friday, Mar. 11 the boys are supposed to play Fresno but with the weather coming in it may be canceled.

That’s it for this week, except for one last note: the Athletic Department and Golf Program would like to thank Beacon Associates for their generous support of the tournament on Tuesday.

We would also like to thank Scott and the crew out at River Creek Golf for their support and patience as we transition to their facility this year.
