Oakminster Dog Show Returns To The Park

Submitted by Judi Hussain

OAKHURST – Calling all dogs! It’s your day to shine on Sunday, Apr. 27, at Oakhurst Community Park.

There’s something for every dog at the second annual “Oakminster” Dog Show, with all pooches—mixed breed and purebred—welcome. Owners are okay, too, if they’re well-behaved. Prizes to be awarded include “Best in Show.”

The fundraiser, sponsored by Oakhurst Mountain Lions Club, once again benefits the Eastern Madera County SPCA shelter.
Festivities commence at 9 am and carry on until the last dog is out of the ring. Register in advance by Apr. 21 for $10 per dog or day of event at $15 per dog. Same-day registration ends at 10 a.m. on Apr 27.

Obedience and conformation are available, with obedience beginning at 10:30 a.m., conformation at 11:30. “Ring time” (no judging) is offered at $10 per dog.

There’s fun for all ages, and food can be purchased.

Please, no aggressive dogs.

Businesses and individuals can lend support by purchasing sponsorships at $100 each. Sponsor’s names will be displayed on dog show media.

For further information about the show or sponsorships, contact Gail at 559-658-5631. Entry forms, along with rules and regulations, can be obtained from the Eastern Madera County SPCA website, www.emcspca.org/events or at the Cat’s Meow, 40315 Junction Drive, Suite C, Oakhurst.
