Oakhurst Library Vandalism Suspect Arrested

OAKHURST — The Madera County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest in the vandalism of the Oakhurst Library last week.

With the help of several anonymous tips, Deputy Daniel Lutz was able to identify the suspect who vandalized the outside wall of the library and the large mural near it last week.

The suspect is a Mariposa County juvenile, according to the Sheriff’s Office. After completing his investigation, Deputy Lutz arrested the juvenile and booked him into the Madera County Juvenile Hall on felony vandalism charges.

Due to his age, the Sheriff’s Office cannot release the suspect’s name. They would like to thank the members of the community who provided useful information in this case.
