Oakhurst Library Summer Programs

OAKHURST — The Oakhurst Branch Library’s Children’s and Teens’ Summer Reading Program starts Wednesday, June 15 and continues on Wednesdays through July 27. The program takes place in the library community room from 10 – 11 a.m. for kids ages 4 through 4th grade, and from 11:30 to 12:30 p.m. for kids in grades 5 – 12. On the docket as the weeks go are a famous cartoonist, the chance to learn about nutrition and eat pizza, meet a football player, and more. Readers may turn in reading logs to win weekly prizes including food coupons and books, and earn a chance to win a grand finale prize such as a bike or fitness band.

That’s not all that’s happening at the library. There’s an art program for teens from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesdays, and a writing program for teens on Wednesdays from 1 – 3 p.m. Know a teen who wants to unplug and play board games? That’s on Thursdays from 1 – 3 p.m.
