North Fork Evacuations Lifted, Warning Remains In Effect

NORTH FORK — Residents in North Fork who have been evacuated since Monday due to rising water levels in Willow Creek are now being allowed to return home.

The Madera County Sheriff’s Office is lifting the mandatory evacuation order for Church Street and the Bass Lake Mobile Home Park.

County agencies have been out to evaluate homes impacted by the flood, according to the Sheriff’s Office. If you were not contacted, your home is safe to reoccupy.

Those returning home are urged to check their residences, especially propane, electric and water.

County Environmental Health recommends flushing water lines before drinking. The Sheriff’s Office has bottled water available for drinking.

The evacuation warning is still in effect for those areas and the following areas:

-Road 222 between Railroad Grade Road and Road 200

-Road 226 between Keller Road and Road 222

-Manzanita Lake Drive

-Old Central Camp Road between Road 222 and ½ of a mile west of Road 274

-Road 225 between Road 222 and Road 274

-Road 228

-Wah-up Way

-Kunigib Way

-Amber Lane

-Weatherly Lane

Everyone is urged to remain aware of rising water levels as conditions can change quickly, and precipitation continues in the area.

If you feel the need to evacuate, please do so. Residents in these area should still be prepared to immediately evacuate at a moment’s notice. Have personal effects packed and be ready in the event of another evacuation order.
