North Fork Classic Car Show & Street Party

NORTH FORK – Hot August Night Classic Car Show and Street Party will be making downtown North Fork the place to be on Saturday, Aug. 8th from 5 to 8 p.m.

Classic cars will line the street and make use of the parking areas from the Pizza Factory to The Studio at the other end of town with local clubs, organizations, and a variety of vendors setting up booths all along the way.

There will be live music, an art show and a BMX show.

A group of local artists will also be exhibiting fine art, photographs, and locally made post cards and note cards. The exhibit will be located in the old video store next to the K&B Auto Parts.

Pam Jones, owner and operator of Hair Car Plus in North Fork, will be one of many participants. She will be showing her 1938 Chevy 2 door sedan with a 350 small block engine and custom upholstery.

Her entry was bought locally in 1988 in running condition from Forest Dozier. Her husband, Duane Jones, spent 20 years restoring it when time and money were available. Sadly, Duane Jones became ill and never got a chance to enjoy the car; he passed away 3 years ago.

Pam will be entering in the Street Rod class. Her sweet ride is up for sale so come see this beauty for yourself at the car show or give her a call at 559-877-4680.

There will 10 different classes of cars vying for prizes that night including “Best Rusted Wreck Still Running.”

North Fork residents know how to have a good time so don’t miss out. Yup, it may be a bit hot that night but the entertainment value will be too.

Admission is free!
