No Burning Allowed Says Cal Fire

MADERA COUNTY – All burning has been suspended in the State Responsibility Area of Madera County as of Saturday, June 1, according to The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE), Madera-Mariposa-Merced Unit (MMU) in cooperation with Madera County Fire Department

The burn suspension is necessary due to the lack of rainfall and higher than normal temperatures the area has experienced.California lends itself to severe wildfire conditions year round with its unique climate and topography, but this year we are experiencing historic low fuel moistures, and have moved into peak fire season condition earlier than predicted. The chance of large and damaging fires exists throughout California.

  1. The fire season is well on it’s way, and it seems there is a fire bug in our area. Cal fire has issued a NO Burn warning, but I think the “CONTROL BURN” getting ready to start up on the 15th in Yosemite National Park should also be put on HOLD. Their “CONTROL BURNS” always, always get out of hand. Can’t they find a better time of year when maybe the grass isn’t so dry, the aren’t so many tourists, and what about our air quality!? Anyone check those numbers out lately! UNHEALTHY! So Cal Fire tells the rest of us we can’t burn, tell my why Yosemite National park does not have to abide by these laws!!!!
