National Gun Appreciation Day Rally In Oakhurst

OAKHURST – Terry Cole, leader of the Caring Vets, invites the community to participate in the first “National Gun Appreciation Day,” Saturday, Jan. 19, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the southwest corner of Highways 41 and 49.

“I’ve heard alot of fussing and fuming about the current efforts to curtail our Second Amendment rights,” says retired Naval Commander Steve Hall. “If you’re one of those doing the fussing, and it means more to you than just words, here’s your chance to put action to your convictions.”Organizers call the event “A Patriot Street Rally to express our determination that those rights will not be infringed upon by this administration or any other,” and invite participants to bring flags, signs, and a chair of you like, “but for sure, bring yourself and your friends. It’s time to stop talking and start acting.”

Hall says rallies are happening all across the state and nation, and invites supporters to join the Caring Vets.

Caring Vets meet in Oakhurst at the Old Kettle on the second Wednesday of each month.
