Murder Trial Date Set For Suspect In Oakhurst Stabbing Death

MADERA COUNTY – The man accused of the stabbing death of a young woman in Oakhurst on Nov. 15 was arraigned today in Bass Lake Superior Court and pleaded not guilty on all charges.

George Taylor-Windsor, 26, faces 30 years to life in prison if convicted on the charges of first degree murder and attempted murder.

Taylor-Windsor is charged in the death of Jessica Nelson, 23, of Foresthill, Calif., who was stabbed to death in the pickup in which she was riding, and the defendant was a passenger. Taylor-Windsor is also accused of stabbing Reid Kallenberg, another occupant of the vehicle.

Nelson was found deceased in a truck that crashed on Highway 41 near River Falls Road north of Oakhurst just after 11 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 15. Kallenberg was taken to a Fresno hospital to be treated for multiple stab wounds. He was released eight days later.

Taylor-Windsor is scheduled to return to court for a jury trial on Feb. 6, 2017. His murder case will be the first jury trial to be held in the Bass Lake Court after it resumes normal daily operations in mid-January.
