MADERA COUNTY — Just before noon today, firefighters were dispatched to reports of several small fires burning along Highway 41 near the 22 Mile House.
Those fires were quickly handled, just as reports began coming in of several spot fires on Deadwood near Road 420, and resources were diverted.
One southbound lane of Highway 41 was closed to allow engines to stage along the roadway, and firefighters dealt with about three small spot fires on the west side of the road.
All fires have been contained at this time. No structures were threatened or damaged.
