Marilyn McPhie For Grand Finale Of Storytelling Fest

Written by Cara Goger —

MARIPOSA — Making her fourth appearance delighting our audience with her quick wit and humor, is San Diego Storyteller, Marilyn McPhie, who will be one of six master tellers performing at the Mariposa County Arts Council’s, 30th Mariposa Storytelling Festivals Grand Finale Celebration, March 10 – 12, 2017.

Marilyn quickly connects with her audience, bringing a special magic to her stories, which often come from surprising sources. She recently was honored by the Storytellers Association of California, receiving their 2017 Regional Gem Award, at a ceremony at the Silk Road House, in Berkeley, where she also performed her hilarious Chocolate and Other Family Values. A Mariposa favorite, festival audiences are sure to also get a taste, or two, of Chocolate.

Marilyn is the President of the Storytellers of San Diego and a Board Member, representing the Pacific Region (CA, OR, WA, AK, HI), for the National Storytelling Network.  Marilyn and the Storytellers of San Diego produce the innovative annual San Diego Storytelling Festival, in Encinitas.

Friday and Saturday’s events take place at Mariposa County High School, Sunday’s Pancake Bruch and Grand Finale Stories will be at the Mariposa Senior Center.  Tickets for the Mariposa Storytelling Festival may be purchased online at www.mariposaartscouncil.org, or contact the Mariposa County Arts Council at (209) 966-3155, or (800) 903-9936, for more information.

The MARIPOSA COUNTY ARTS COUNCIL, INC. is an incorporated not-for-profit organization, created to promote and support all forms of the cultural arts, for all ages, throughout Mariposa County and is funding in part by Mariposa County, the California Arts Council, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
