Madera Man Dies In Drive-By Shooting

MADERA COUNTY – The Madera County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a Madera man, killed by gun fire late Sunday night.

According to preliminary reports, Shaun Lafiet Foster, 34, and a 43-year-old unidentified Caucasian female, were sitting on a couch in a vacant lot near a home on Ellis Street.A white sedan reportedly drove by the residence a couple times before someone in the vehicle opened fire with multiple rounds, hitting both Foster and his female companion.

The pair was rushed by ambulance to an area hospital where Foster was pronounced deceased. The condition of the female is not known at this time.

The shooting occurred sometime between 11:15 and 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, Mar. 3. The reason is still under investigation, and the Sheriff’s Office reports that Foster did have an extensive criminal history.

Anyone who may have information is urged to either call the Madera County Sheriff’s Office at 559-675-7770, or Crime Stoppers at 559-478-STOP. An anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers that results in the apprehension of those behind this shooting could be worth up to a thousand dollars.
