Madera Law Enforcement Hosts Golf Tournament

MADERA COUNTY – The Madera Sheriff’s Office and Madera Police Department are pleased to announce their first Explorer Scrambles Golf Tournament.

Everyone is invited to participate in the tournament, scheduled for Saturday Aug. 15, at the Madera Municipal Golf Course located at 23200 Avenue 17 in Madera.

The shotgun start of the tournament is at 8 a.m. Participants should be at the course by 7 a.m. for signups.

The Madera Sheriff and Madera Police Explorers Program is a non-profit organization that is focused on educating young individuals between the ages of 14 and 21 years, and has been an integral part of each department for 40 years.

This program exposes Explorers to every facet of law enforcement, with an end goal of creating highly educated and civically engaged young individuals.

Madera’s Explorers donate on an average of 5,000 hours of community service annually to the City of Madera, Chowchilla, Oakhurst, Bass Lake, North Fork, Raymond, Fresno and surrounding communities. This program is primarily funded by donations from private individuals and organizations.

Organizers invite the public to support the Explorer Program through one of their sponsorship packages, donate an item to raffle, or sign up a team. Singles or doubles will be matched to make foursomes.

Golfers – $85 per golfer/$340 per foursome

Tournament Bonuses ––– Prizes for 1st Place Team – Closest to the Pin – Best Ball – Hole in One -Awards/Raffle appreciation lunch plus much, much more.
