Madera County Sheriff’s Log Through Jan. 8

MADERA COUNTY – Following are details from the Madera County Sheriff’s Office of reports taken locally from Monday, Jan. 2 to Sunday, Jan. 8, 2017:

Oakhurst robbery and carjacking
On Monday, Jan. 2 at 1:46 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the Best Western Hotel located in Oakhurst on CA-41, regarding a report of a robbery and a carjacking. During the investigation it was determined the crime was initiated at a residence within the 50000 block of Hangtree Lane. The stolen vehicle was later recovered and released to the driver (victim) who had possession of the registered owner’s vehicle at the time of this incident. Two suspects were placed into custody and transported to the Madera County Jail. This case has been forwarded to the Madera County DA’s Office for the filing of related charges.

Report of sexual assault years ago in North Dakota
On Monday, Jan. 2 at 11:30 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to conduct a telephonic report regarding a possible sexual assault that occurred several years ago in the state
of North Dakota. This report will be forwarded to the Williston Police Department.

Coarsegold missing person possibly danger to self
On Monday, Jan. 2 at 7:06 p.m. a deputy responded to the 34000 block of Jennifer Lane regarding a possible civil issue. During the investigation it was determined
the reporting party’s husband was possibly suicidal when he left the residence. This case was to be forwarded to detectives.

Oakhurst assault
On Tuesday, Jan. 3 at 8:07 a.m. the victim of an assault came into the Oakhurst substation to report an assault which occurred the night before at the 40000 Block of Covey Court. The investigation is ongoing and will be forwarded to detectives for follow-up.

Oakhurst threats
On Tuesday, Jan. 3 at 11:49 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the Oakhurst substation regarding some threats that were made in 50000 block of Road 426. A report was taken. Case to remain open for further investigation and follow up.

O’Neals danger to self
On Tuesday, Jan. 3 at 9:52 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a residence located within the 50000 block of Road 200 regarding a possibly suicidal female adult. During the investigation the female was found to be a danger to herself, due to a mental condition, and was placed on a mental health evaluation hold. She was transported to a hospital for evaluation and/or treatment via ambulance. This case has been closed.

Coarsegold coroner’s call
On Wednesday, Jan. 4 at 1:55 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to a residence located within the 47000 block of Navajo Avenue, regarding a report of a medical emergency. Upon arrival at the scene Cal Fire and Sierra Ambulance personnel were already attempting to revive the patient, with negative results. This case has been forwarded to the Sheriff’s Detective Coroner’s Division for review and possible follow up investigation.

Oakhurst burglary to shed
On Wednesday, Jan. 4 at 10:37 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the block of 49000 Cinder Lane regarding burglary to a shed. The suspect stole the lock and took toilet paper. The reporting party requested a report for documentation.

Coarsegold narcotics
On Wednesday, Jan. 4 at 1:51 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 46000 block of Lucky Lane in regards to found property determined to be narcotics. The property was seized to be destroyed.

North Fork weapons
On Wednesday, Jan. 4 at 2:34 p.m. deputies were dispatched to the 60000 block of Happy Oak Lane regarding a weapons call. Two subjects were contacted with outstanding arrest warrants. One subject lied about her name and was arrested for that charge. Forward the case to the Madera County DA for charges.

Ahwahnee danger to self
On Thursday, Jan. 5 at 2 a.m. deputies responded to the 42000 block of CA-49 for a report of a subject that was trying to hurt herself. After speaking to the subject, she was found to be a danger to herself after she attempted to cut herself with a piece of glass. She was sent to the hospital on a mental health hold and evaluation.

Coarsegold found property 
On Thursday, Jan. 5 at 9:40 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to 46000 block of Lucky Lane in regards to found property. A report was taken for documentation.

Oakhurst gasoline theft
On Thursday, Jan. 5 at 10:12 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 40000 block of Redbud Drive regarding theft of gasoline. A report was taken and the case was closed due to lack of investigative leads.

Coarsegold narcotics found
On Thursday, Jan. 5 at 10:38 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the block of 44000 Person Loop regarding a subject who had located methamphetamine in her vehicle. A report was taken for documentation. Refer report closed.

Coarsegold domestic violence
On Thursday, Jan. 5 at noon, a deputy was dispatched to a residence in the 44000 block of Person Loop North in regards to a domestic violence incident. The victim
reported that her husband was using drugs and threatened to kill her. The subject was later located and arrested for criminal threats. He was transported to Madera Department of Corrections without incident. Refer to the D.A’s office for charges filed.

Oakhurst theft
On Thursday, Jan. 5 at 12:37 p.m. a deputy received a report of a possible lost or stolen wallet and monies in the 4000 block of road 600. Report taken.

North Fork burglary
On Thursday, Jan. 5 at 12:09 p.m. deputies responded to the area of the 34000 block of Bear Clover Circle for a burglary report. A report was taken and the case was closed due to lack of evidence or leads.

North Fork vandalism
On Thursday, Jan. 5 at 5 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the block of 72000 Mammoth Pool Road regarding vandalism to a gate. Report taken for documentation.

Oakhurst found purse with no identification
On Thursday, Jan. 5 at 7:13 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 40000 block of CA-41 regarding found property. A subject found woman’s bag in a trash can. There was no identification or any means to know who the bag belongs to.

Coarsegold coroner’s call
On Thursday, Jan. 5 at 8:40 p.m. deputies were dispatched to the 46000 block of Road 415 regarding a coroner’s case. EMS was on scene prior to deputies’ arrival
and attempted life saving measures but were unsuccessful. The death appeared to be of natural causes. Case was forwarded to Chief Deputy Coroner.

Oakhurst narcotics
On Friday, Jan. 6 at 8:54 a.m. a deputy conducted a routine traffic enforcement stop on a vehicle in the area of CA 41 and Golden Oak Loop which resulted in the driver and two passengers being arrested. Request to forward the case to the Madera County DA for charges and forward a copy of this report to the Madera County Probation Department.

Ahwahnee coroner’s case
On Friday, Jan. 6 at 11:43 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the block of 44000 Ahwahnee Acres Road regarding a coroner’s case. A report was taken for documentation. Refer the report to Chief Deputy Coroner for review.

Oakhurst warrant arrest and vehicle impounded
On Friday, Jan. 6 at 3:14 p.m. a deputy conducted a routine traffic stop which resulted in the driver being cited for outstanding arrest warrants and moving violations. The vehicle was impounded. Forward the case to the Madera County DA for charges.

Oakhurst fraud
On Friday, Jan. 6 at 4:24 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 48000 block of Liberty Drive in to a report of fraud. A report was taken for documentation purposes.

Oakhurst bank robbery
On Friday, Jan. 6 deputies were dispatched to the 40000 block of CA 41 in regards to a bank robbery. A report was taken and evidence collected. Forward the case to detectives.

Coarsegold danger to self
On Friday, Jan. 6 8:48 p.m. deputies responded to the 45000 block of Rocking Chair Road for a report of a subject possibly in need of a mental health evaluation hold. After conducting and evaluation of the subject, the person was placed on a mental health evaluation hold and transported to Madera Community Hospital for further evaluation.

Oakhurst domestic violence restraining order violation
On Saturday, Jan. 7 at 1:30 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a confidential location regarding a domestic violence restraining order violation. Refer to the D.A’s office for review of charges.

Oakhurst fatal accident involving minor
On Saturday, Jan. 7 at 10:50 p.m. deputies were dispatched to an overturned vehicle into a creek in the 49000 block of Road 426, west of Road 425B. Upon arrival it was determined a female juvenile was trapped inside of the vehicle. Fire, EMS and a tow truck arrived on scene and were able to position the vehicle to remove the female. The female was removed from the vehicle and transported to Valley Children’s Hospital were she succumbed to her injuries. Case will be forwarded to the Madera County Chief Deputy Coroner.

Coarsegold theft
On Sunday, Jan. 8 at 12:21 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to 46000 block of Lucky Lane regarding a stolen license plate. The vehicle information was entered into the system and a report was taken.

Coarsegold minor in distress
On Sunday, Jan. 8 at 12:22 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 43000 block of Ranger Circle Drive regarding a 12-year-old female juvenile who was possibly in need of a mental health evaluation hold. This incident will be forwarded to Madera Child Protective Services for continued follow up.
