Madera County Sheriff’s Local Crime Log

MADERA COUNTY – Following are details from the Madera County Sheriff’s Office of reports taken locally from Sunday, Mar. 13 to Sunday, Mar. 20, 2016:

North Fork assault
On Sunday, Mar. 13 at approximately 12:49 a.m. deputies were dispatched to the 57000 block of Road 225 for a report of an assault. A case was generated and charges were filed with the District Attorney’s office.

Oakhurst stolen plow
On Sunday, Mar. 13 at 10:22 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 42000 block of Maples Lane regarding a theft of a old plow. Report taken. Case to be closed.

Oakhurst found property
On Sunday, Mar. 13 at 4:01 p.m. deputies responded to the area of the 48900 block of River Park Road for a found property report. The found items were collected and put into the evidence system.

Coarsegold felony warrant arrest
On Sunday, Mar. 13 at 10:10 p.m. a deputy initiated a subject check of a patron at the Chukchansi Casino, which resulted in the arrest of the subject for a no bail, felony warrant out of Sacramento. The subject was arrested without incident and booked into the Madera County Jail. Case to be closed.

Oakhurst vandalism
On Monday, Mar. 14 at 9:11 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 41000 block of Highway 41 in regards to a vandalism report. Photographs taken of the scene and a case report was written.

Coarsegold sex crime
On Monday, Mar. 14 at 10 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 42000 block of Ranger Circle regarding a mother reporting that she saw a male subject in her daughter’s room the night before. Report written, evidence obtained, no arrests made, and case forwarded to the Madera County Sheriff’s detectives unit for review, and the following Madera County agencies: Madera Juvenal Probation and Madera County Child Protective Services.

Oakhurst Coroner’s case
On Monday, Mar. 14 at 11:12 a.m. a deputy handled a delayed Coroner’s case with the primary physician stipulating to the decedent’s cause of death. This is a natural death case involving only a Coroner’s referral number.

Oakhurst suspicious data
On Monday, Mar. 14 at 1:14 p.m. deputies were contacted at the Oakhurst sub-station regarding possible suspicious data storage. A report was generated and the report was forwarded to the detective unit for further review.

Coarsegold fraud
On Tuesday, Mar. 15 at 9:54 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 35000 block of Highway 41 in regards to a report of fraud. No arrest were made and a case report was taken.

Oakhurst fraud PG&E scam
On Tuesday, Mar. 15 at 11:52 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 49000 block of Road 426 regarding a PG&E phone scam. Report taken. Case to be closed.

Oakhurst juvenile arrest for marijuana
On Tuesday, Mar. 15 at 1:53 p.m. the Yosemite Unified Resource Deputy was advised by the Assistant Principal that several students were in possession of marijuana on campus. The high school is located on the 50000 block of Road 427 in Oakhurst. An investigation was conducted and one juvenile was arrested and later booked at Madera County Juvenile Hall. Charges will also be requested on a second juvenile.

Coarsegold public intoxication
On Tuesday, Mar. 15 at 4 p.m. an adult female was contacted in the 46000 block of Lucky Lane and placed under arrest for public intoxication. Case to be forwarded to the Madera County District Attorney’s Office for a criminal complaint to be filed.

Oakhurst burglary investigation
On Tuesday, Mar. 15 at 4:52 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a burglary in the 40800 block of Highway 41. Report taken. Case to go to Detective Cuthbert as it is related to another investigation he is working on.

Coarsegold driver in violation
On Tuesday, Mar. 15 at 10:52 p.m. a deputy observed a vehicle traveling eastbound on Yosemite Springs Parkway, approaching Patrick Avenue. The posted speed limit in this area was 35 MPH. The deputy paced the vehicle traveling at a rate of speed greater than 45 mile per hour. The deputy initiated a vehicle stop and during the investigation determined the driver was operating the vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. The driver also did not have any proof of insurance in her possession. The driver was issued a citation for driving on a suspended license and having no proof of insurance, but was only warned about the speeding violation. This case has been forwarded to the Madera County DA’s Office for the filing of related charges.

Coarsegold theft
On Wednesday, Mar. 16 at 8:51 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 46000 block of Road 417 to investigate a theft report. It is unknown where the theft occurred. Report taken for documentation only. There are no suspect(s) or witnesses in this case. Report to be closed.

Oakhurst Coroner’s report
On Wednesday, Mar. 16 at 11:37 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the block of 51000 Rusty Lane regarding a Coroner’s report. Report taken for documentation. Requesting report to be forwarded to the Chief Coroner for review.

Ahwahnee vandalism
On Wednesday, Mar. 16 at 12:19 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to investigate a vandalism that occurred in the 45000 Sunrise Drive. A report was taken for documentation only. There are currently no suspect(s) in this case. Report is to be closed.

Oakhurst murder threats
On Wednesday, Mar. 16 at 2:28 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to multiple businesses for a report of a male subject threatening to kill employees and law enforcement. The male subject was arrested, transported and booked at the Madera County Department of Corrections. Case forward to the Madera County District Attorney to pursue the charges against the male subject. Read more about this case here.

North Fork burglary
On Wednesday, Mar. 16 at 6:16 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 54000 block of Pine Tree Lane for a residential burglary. An investigation was conducted and no arrests were made. Report written and case closed due to lack of physical evidence and investigative leads.

North Fork domestic disturbance
On Wednesday, Mar. 16 at 7:16 p.m. a deputy responded to the 31000 block of Wyle Ranch Road regarding a domestic disturbance that was reported by a nearby neighbor. When deputy arrived on scene all parties that were involved in the reported incident by the neighbor were gone on arrival. This report was taken for documentation purposes only, case closed.

North Fork stabbing
On Wednesday, Mar. 16 at 8:32 p.m. a deputy responded to a stabbing in the 57000 block of Road 225. An investigation was conducted and no arrests were made. The victim received superficial wounds and did not wish to identify or press charges on the suspect. Report completed and sent to detectives for follow up. Read more about this case here.

Oakhurst disturbance
On Thursday, Mar. 17 at 3:28 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 40000 block of CA-41 regarding a verbal and physical disturbance involving a male and female. No charges are requested. This report was taken for documentation only and is to be closed.

Oakhurst mailboxes damaged
On Thursday, Mar. 17 at 7:11 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the corner of Road 426 and Road 423 for a report of damage to the United States Post Office mailbox cluster. Upon the arrival of the deputy, no damage was found and the remaining mail was collected for safekeeping. The mail was turned over to a day shift deputy for transport to the Oakhurst Post Office. The case is being closed since it was taken for documentation.

Oakhurst Coroner’s report
On Friday, Mar. 18 at 7:47 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 45000 block of Darling Way regarding a Coroner’s case. Report is to be forwarded to the Chief Deputy Coroner.

North Fork possible scam
On Friday, Mar. 18 at 8:32 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to investigate a possible scam that occurred in the 57000 block of Amber Lane. A report was taken for documentation only at this time. Report to be closed with no further action.

Coarsegold report of threats
On Friday, Mar. 18 at 8:46 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the lobby of the Oakhurst sub-station to investigate a report of threats. The suspect is named and report to be forwarded to the District Attorney for review.

Oakhurst mental health hold
On Friday, Mar. 18 at 11:16 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the VA Health Clinic in Oakhurst regarding a male patient that possibly needed a mental health evaluation hold. The patient left the scene prior to the deputy’s arrival and was later located at his residence. The patient was placed on a mental health evaluation hold and transported to a hospital by ambulance. Close case.

North Fork citation for outstanding warrant
On Saturday, Mar. 19 at 9:41 a.m. during a patrol check in North Fork, a deputy noticed a male subject who had an outstanding warrant out of Madera County. The male subject had a $1,000 misdemeanor warrant. The male subject was contacted and issued a citation for his warrant. Report written and case closed by arrest.

Raymond threat of suicide
On Saturday, Mar. 19 at 1:45 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to 33000 block of Road 613 regarding a female talking to a crisis hotline worker, saying she wanted to kill herself. Female contacted and taken for a mental health evaluation. Case to be closed.

Oakhurst threats to store clerk
On Saturday, Mar. 19 at 4:15 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to 40000 block of Highway 49 regarding a customer making threats to the store clerk. Victim just wanted incident
documented. Case to be closed.

Oakhurst theft on Shady Lane
On Sunday, Mar. 20 at 1:19 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 42000 block of Shady Lane regarding a theft. Report taken. Case to be closed.

Oakhurst report of lost property
On Sunday, Mar. 20 at 6:42 p.m. a deputy responded to the Oakhurst substation for a telephonic report regarding lost property. The property was last seen on Friday, Mar. 18, shortly before the reporting party went to the CVS Pharmacy. Documentation only

Coarsegold trespassing and attempted assault
On Sunday, Mar. 20 at 18:04 p.m. a deputy working casino patrol was requested to assist security in asking a female to leave the premises. The female refused repeatedly and while being taken into custody for trespassing, attempted to strike the deputy. Case to be forwarded to the Madera County District Attorney for filing of charges.
