Madera County Sheriff’s Crime Log Through Jan. 15

MADERA COUNTY – Following are details from the Madera County Sheriff’s Office of reports taken locally from Monday, Jan. 9 to Sunday, Jan. 15, 2017:

Oakhurst fraud
On Monday, Jan. 9 at 9:38 a.m. a deputy received a report of the unlawful use of a bank access information in the 49000 block of River Park Road. Report taken.

Raymond welfare check
On Monday, Jan. 9 at 10:35 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 36000 block of Road 411 in regards to a welfare check of an 85-year-old male. Upon arrival, forced entry was made into the residence and the male was located alive and in need of emergency medical attention. The male was turned over to paramedics for treatment. Report taken for documentation only.

Bass Lake stolen vehicle
On Monday, Jan. 9 at 4:23 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 54000 block of Crane Valley Road regarding a possible stolen vehicle parked in the driveway. The vehicle was confirmed to be stolen out of Eastern Madera County. One adult male was arrested for possession of stolen property/vehicle, possession of burglary tools and a felony probation violation. One adult female was arrested for an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. This report is to be forwarded to the District Attorney for filing charges.

Oakhurst theft
On Monday, Jan. 9 at 6:28 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to telephone a male regarding a report of a theft. The theft reportedly occurred at at residence located within the 47000 block of Lewis Creek Road. This case has been suspended, pending investigative leads.

North Fork public intoxication
On Monday, Jan. 9 at 7:50 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a business located in the 54000 block of Road 200 regarding an intoxicated female harassing customers. Upon contact the female was found to have a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage, slurred speech and was unsteady on her feet. She was determined to be unable to care for herself due to her inebriated condition and was placed into custody. This case has been forwarded to the Madera County DA’s Office for the filing of related charge.

North Fork motor vehicle accident
On Tuesday, Jan. 10 at 7:30 a.m. a deputy drove a county vehicle into a water filled man-made canal, which required the assistance from a tow truck to remove. No known damage was sustained to any private property or the vehicle. A report was generated for documentation purposes.

Bass Lake burglary
On Tuesday, Jan. 10 at 3:01 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 38000 block of Road 222 in regards to a residential burglary report. Upon arrival it was discovered that the suspect(s) forced entry into the lower section of the residence. The suspect(s) also attempted to steal a vehicle that was parked on the property. A statement was obtained from the victim and the scene was processed for physical evidence. Potential
evidence was recovered and booked into the sheriff’s office for processing. A person of interest was named in this report.

O’Neals burglary
On Wednesday, Jan. 11 at 9:08 a.m. a deputy was flagged down in the 46000 block of Road 200. A report was filed regarding a burglary that occurred the previous day. Video surveillance of the incident was obtained. At this time, there were no suspect(s). Case to remain open.

North Fork criminal threats
On Thursday, Jan. 12 at 11:13 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to a call in the 33000 block of Road 224 regarding criminal threats. An investigation was conducted and charges filled with the DA’s office.

Oakhurst tampering with evidence
On Thursday, Jan. 12 at 3:06 p.m. a deputy was dispatched in regards to a phone report regarding tampering of evidence in a Madera County Superior Civil Court case. The reporting party was a lawyer and wanted charges filed. A report was taken. Forward the case to the Madera County DA.

Coarsegold warrant citation
On Thursday, Jan. 12 at 4:07 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the block of 46000 Paloma Road regarding possible subjects inside the residence and the homeowner was blocking in the vehicle. The subjects were detained and one was cited on a misdemeanor warrant. The home owner requested no criminal charges filed.

Oakhurst suspended driver’s license
On Thursday, Jan. 12 at 4:19 p.m. a deputy conducted a traffic enforcement stop which resulted in the driver being cited for suspended California driver’s license which resulted in the vehicle being stored. Forward the case to the Madera County DA.

North Fork welfare check
On Thursday, Jan. 12 at 3:35 p.m. a deputy responded to a dispatch call in the 34000 block of Sunridge Road regarding possible child abuse occurring at a residence. An investigation was conducted and deputy determined no evidence of abuse was occurring to the child. A report was written and sent to CPS for a referral.

Coarsegold coroner’s report
On Thursday, Jan. 12 at 4:15 p.m. deputies responded to the area of the 44000 block of Savage Road for a coroner’s report. A report was taken and forwarded to the chief coroner

Coarsegold teens capsized in water
On Thursday, Jan. 12 at 6:03 p.m. deputies were dispatched to the 31000 block of Road 400 regarding a capsized boat with teenagers in the water. Upon arrival three of the four had safely made it to shore. The forth teenager was safely secured and pulled safely on shore. This incident is closed.

Teens Rescued After Falling Into Icy River

Ahwahnee domestic violence and robbery
On Thursday, Jan. 12 at 6:09 p.m. deputies were dispatched to the 44000 block of Highway 49 regarding a subject who was intoxicated and had assaulted his girlfriend and mom. Upon arrival the subject had fled the area. Neither victim had any injuries and a case number was issued. After checking the area, deputies advised the reporting party to call back if the subject returned. Later that evening the reporting party called back and advised that her son had returned and this time attacked her and choked her out in order to get her cell phone. The subject had fled the area by the time deputies arrived. The suspect was later contacted, taken into custody and booked into the Madera County Jail on domestic violence and robbery related charges.

Oakhurst danger to self
On Friday, Jan. 13 at 3:21 p.m. a deputy responded to a dispatch call in the 49000 block of River Falls Road regarding a possible suicide threat on social media. A determination was made that the subject met the criteria for a mental evaluation and was transported to a mental evaluation facility.

Coarsegold deceased person
On Friday, Jan. 13 at 9:30 p.m. a deputy responded to the 42000 block of Long Hollow Drive for a report of a deceased person. An investigation was completed by the patrol deputy and the report was forwarded to the chief coroner’s office and the detective unit for review.

Coarsegold methamphetamines
On Friday, Jan. 13 at 11:10 p.m. deputies were dispatched to the 46000 block of Oonay Nation Road regarding three trespassers on PG& E property. Upon arrival deputies stopped a vehicle that what leaving the area and found out that there was another subject still at the location. Assisting deputies located the subject in his vehicle. It was later determined the subject was in possession of a scale and a significant amount of methamphetamine. The subject was taken into custody and booked into the Madera County Jail on possession of a controlled substance for sales.

North Fork fire and psychiatric evaluation
On Saturday, Jan. 14 at 7:41 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 33000 block of Willow Creek regarding a subject who lit his mattress on fire. The subject was taken to the hospital for a psychiatric evaluation and a report was written.

North Fork Man Allegedly Starts Own House On Fire

Raymond assault
On Saturday, Jan. 14 at 9:07 p.m. deputies were dispatched to the 32000 block of Road 608 regarding a physical altercation with injuries. The suspect was identified but not on scene upon arrival and was not located. An investigation ensued and assault charges were filed.
