Madera County Sheriff’s Crime Log Through Dec. 18

MADERA COUNTY – Following are details from the Madera County Sheriff’s Office of reports taken locally from Monday, Dec. 12 to Sunday, Dec. 18, 2016:

North Fork vandalism to mailboxes 
On Monday, Dec. 12 at 6:37 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to Road 200 and Wyle Ranch Road regarding a vandalism to a community mailboxes. A report was taken and forwarded to the United States Postal Service.

Oakhurst theft
On Monday, Dec. 12 at 7:02 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to a call regarding theft of Christmas lights located at the 49000 block of Canoga Drive. Report taken and case closed.

Coarsegold vandalism
On Monday, Dec. 12 at 9:47 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 31000 block of Hogans Mountain Road regarding vandalism to a property fence. Due to the lack of investigative leads and evidence, the case is closed.

Bass Lake vandalism to mailboxes
On Monday, Dec. 12 at 10:47 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 55000 block of Lake Point Drive regarding a vandalism of a mail box cluster. Report taken and case closed.

Coarsegold theft
On Monday, Dec. 12 at 10 a.m. a school teacher reported money missing from her purse which occurred sometime during the last week. The campus is located on the 45000 Block of Road 415.

Oakhurst mail theft
On Monday, Dec. 12 at 2:49 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 40000 block of SR-41 regarding report of stolen mail. Report taken and case closed.

Coarsegold threats
On Monday, Dec. 12 at 3:15 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 46000 block of road 417 regarding threats. A report was written for documentation purposes.

Oakhurst coroner’s report
On Monday, Dec. 12 at 3:59 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 48000 block of Deadwood Lookout Road regarding a coroner’s report. Report taken and case forwarded to the Chief Coroner for review.

Coarsegold warrant citations
On Monday, Dec. 12 at 4:13 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 46000 block of Lucky Lane for a possible fraudulent use of a credit card. During the investigation, it was discovered that the possible suspect had two active warrants for her arrest. Citations were issued and the female was released from custody.

Oakhurst accident 
On Monday, Dec. 12 at approximately 5:15 p.m. a deputy was driving to his residence in Madera County pool car #14. The deputy was eastbound on Road 222 when he struck a deer east of Dorstan Drive. The front end of the Pontiac sedan was
damaged and a tow truck was requested. Pool car #14 was towed to the Madera County garage for repairs. The deputy was not injured in the incident.

Oakhurst attempted burglary
On Monday, Dec. 12 at 4:04 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 41000 block of Old Barn Way regarding a report of a possible burglary. After further investigation it appeared that call type was an attempted burglary. Report taken, evidence obtained and case closed.

Coarsegold theft
On Monday, Dec. 12 at 5:25 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to take a telephonic report regarding a stolen wallet that occurred in the 46000 block of Lucky Lane. During the investigation no suspects were located. This report is to be closed.

Oakhurst theft
On Monday, Dec. 12 at 4:08 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 40000 block of CA-49 regarding a theft. During the investigation no suspect was located, and this case is to be closed.

North Fork assault
On Monday, Dec. 12 at 7:20 p.m. a deputy responded regarding a domestic disturbance. During the investigation it was determined both parties were involved in a physical altercation. This case will be forwarded to the District Attorney’s office for filing charges.

Ahwahnee noise disturbance
On Monday, Dec. 12 at 10:55 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a residence located within the 45000 block of Kelly Circle regarding a report of a noise disturbance. This case was written primarily for documentation and has been closed due to insufficient evidence.

Coarsegold juvenile grand theft
On Tuesday, Dec. 13 at 12:21 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 29000 block of Jim Bowie Court regarding the report of a missing juvenile. During the investigation the juvenile was located and taken into custody for grand theft. The juvenile was transported and booked into the Madera County Juvenile Correctional Facility. This case will be forwarded to the District Attorney’s office for filing.

Oakhurst coroner’s report
On Tuesday, Dec. 13 at 9:10 a.m. a deputy responded to a delayed Coroner’s case with the primary physician stipulating to the decedent’s cause of death. This is a natural death case involving only a Coroner’s referral number.

Ahwahnee disturbance
On Tuesday, Dec. 13 at 8:43 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 43000 block of Leach Road in Ahwahnee regarding a report of a juvenile banging on a door and yelling at his mother to open the door. Report taken and case closed.

Oakhurst juvenile charged with theft
On Tuesday, Dec. 13 at approximately 1 p.m. a school administrator advised the School Resource Deputy that a student stole money during a recent event at the school, located at the 50000 Block of Road 427. The student admitted to the theft and charges will be forwarded to Madera County Juvenile Probation.

Oakhurst danger to self
On Tuesday, Dec. 13 at 5:06 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 39000 block of Westview Drive in regards to a subject possibly in need of a mental health evaluation. Upon contact the subject was determined to be a danger to self and others and a protective hold was placed. Case is to be closed.

Ahwahnee assault
On Tuesday, Dec. 13 at 6:32 p.m. a deputy responded to the 42000 block of SR-49 regarding the report of an assault. During the investigation it was found the suspect had fled the scene and the male victim was treated for a laceration on the top of his head. This case will be forwarded the District Attorney’s office.

Oakhurst burglary
On Wednesday, Dec. 14 at 4:07 a.m. a deputy responded to the 40000 block of SR-41 in Oakhurst regarding a glass break and burglary alarm. During the investigation no suspects were located, however, a brick was used to attempt a break-in at this location. This case to be closed

Oakhurst warrant arrest (suspect on roof)
On Wednesday, Dec. 14 at 9:04 a.m. deputies are dispatched to the 40000 block of CA-49 in regards to an alarm sounding at a business. Citizens also reported seeing a male on the roof of the business. Upon arrival, the male suspect was contacted by deputies. The male fled on foot, however, he was later captured and taken into custody.

Oakhurst theft
On Wednesday, Dec. 14 at 10:20 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 49000 block of Road 426 regarding a a theft of medication from a purse. Report taken and case closed.

Coarsegold gun found in hotel room
On Wednesday, Dec. 14 at 4:02 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 46000 block of Lucky Lane regarding a gun that was left in a hotel room. The gun was taken by the Madera County Sheriff’s office and place into safe keeping. A report was written for documentation purposes.

Coarsegold report of domestic violence
On Wednesday, Dec. 14 at 12:47 p.m. a deputy attempted to investigate an alleged domestic violence altercation that took place in Coarsegold on Nov. 30. The Madera County Sheriff’s Office received a courtesy report from the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office in regards to the altercation. The female that reported the incident to Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by this deputy and arrangements were made to meet in person to discuss the incident, however, the female did not arrive at the pre-arranged time.

Ahwahnee theft
On Wednesday, Dec. 14 at 9:30 p.m. a deputy responded to the 45000 block of Nipview Circle regarding a theft from an unlocked vehicle. During the investigation no suspects were located and a description could not be provided. This case is to be closed.

Oakhurst students narcotics
On Thursday, Dec. 15 at 9:15 a.m. an administrator at the school located at the 50000 Block of Road 427 advised that two students were smoking in the student parking lot before school. The students were called into the office and a safety search was conducted by the administrator. One student was in possession of marijuana and admitted to smoking before school. Students were turned over to their parents and criminal charges will be forwarded to Madera County Juvenile Probation.

Coarsegold narcotics
On Thursday, Dec. 15 at 11:22 a.m. a deputy responded to a dispatch call in the 31000 block of Apache Road regarding a possible narcotic overdose. An investigation was conducted and a male was arrested for possession of a controlled substance. Report written and charges requested.

Oakhurst fraud
On Thursday, Dec. 15 at 1:18 p.m. deputies responded to the Oakhurst substation for a fraud/scam report. A report was generated and closed.

Coarsegold coroner’s report
On Thursday, Dec. 15 at 12:50 p.m. a deputy responded to a dispatch call in the 46000 block of Road 415 for a coroner’s call. An investigation was conducted and the decedent was transported to the mortuary for an autopsy, with a report forwarded to chief deputy coroner.

Coarsegold warrant arrest
On Thursday, Dec. 15 at 3:48 p.m. a subject was reported pacing up and down Road 417 near SR-41. The subject was contacted by the Sheriff’s Department on Road 417. The subject had a confirmed Felony Warrant out of Sierra Court. The
subject was arrested and transported to Madera County Jail.

North Fork vandalism and arrest
On Thursday, Dec. 15 at 10:11 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 32000 block of Wah Up Way regarding vandalism to a vehicle. An investigation was conducted and evidence was collected. A female suspect was arrested and booked at the Madera County Department of Corrections. Case forwarded to the District Attorney’s office for charges.

Raymond harassment and threats
On Friday, Dec. 16 at 1:07 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 32000 block of Road 600 in regards to harassment. A report taken and the suspect arrested for threats. Forward the case to the Madera County District Attorney’s Office for charges.

Coarsegold fraud
On Friday, Dec. 16 at 2:43 p.m. a deputy responded to a dispatch call in the 48000 block of Liberty Drive regarding identity theft. Evidence collected and report written. Case forwarded to mountain detectives.

Oakhurst found property
On Friday, Dec. 16 at 4:20 p.m. a deputy located property in the patrol vehicle upon start of shift at Oakhurst substation. The property was booked into Oakhurst sub station as found property. Case closed.

North Fork coroner’s report (possible homicide)
On Saturday, Dec. 17 at 9 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 58000 block of Road 225 for a coroner’s case. The deceased displayed signs of being involved in a physical altercation and possibly attacked. The deputy notified the watch commander of the circumstances and observations and he advised to secure the scene. The scene was secured and the case turned over to detectives for further investigation.

Sheriff’s Deputies Investigate Possible North Fork Homicide

Oakhurst domestic violence 
On Saturday, Dec. 17 at 9:38 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 50000 block of Road 426 regarding a domestic disturbance. The male subject was taken into custody and transported to the Department of Corrections. A report was written and sent to the Madera County District Attorney’s office requesting charges be filed.

Oakhurst fraud
On Sunday, Dec. 18 at 1:09 p.m. a deputy was flagged down regarding a fraud report. The victim was provided with an identity theft packet and report was filed.

Oakhurst danger to self
On Sunday, Dec. 18 at 2:57 p.m.. a deputy was dispatched to the 40000 block of River Park regarding a male subject who was in his underwear walking out in public. After concluding the investigation the subject was detained for a mental health evaluation hold and transported to the hospital.
