Madera County Sheriff’s Crime Log Through Apr. 23

MADERA COUNTY – Following are details from the Madera County Sheriff’s Office of reports taken locally from Monday, Apr. 17 to Sunday, Apr. 23, 2017:

North Fork narcotics arrest
On Monday, Apr. 17 at midnight, a deputy was dispatched to the 34000 block of Road 221 regarding a suspicious person. Upon arrival a male subject was contacted while walking in the roadway. He was later determined to be under the influence of a controlled substance and subsequently booked into Madera County Department of Corrections.

Oakhurst burglary
On Monday, Apr. 17 at 5:24 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a residence located within the 42000 block of Buckeye Road regarding a report of a burglary. This case has been suspended, pending investigative leads.

Oakhurst firewood stolen
On Monday, Apr. 17 at 6:47 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a residence located within the 40000 block of Jean Road East regarding a report of a theft of firewood from the property. Victim estimated the value of the stolen firewood to be about $600. This case has been suspended, pending investigative leads.

Madera County concerned son
On Monday, Apr. 17 at 9:38 p.m. the reporting party telephoned the Madera County Sheriff’s Department from San Diego to report that his mother was missing. She was en route to El Portal in Mariposa County but never checked in with her son. During the investigation the mother was contacted over the telephone at the hotel where she was planning to vacation. She advised she had not been able to reach her son due to an issue with her cell phone coverage. The reporting party was advised and spoke with his mother himself. This report was written as a courtesy and has been closed.

Bass Lake mail theft
On Tuesday, Apr. 18 at 9:03 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to 54000 block of Road 432 regarding stolen mail. A report was taken and forwarded to the U.S postal service.

Coarsegold mail theft
On Tuesday, Apr. 18 at 9:11 a.m. a deputy was dispatched regarding a theft from a mailbox cluster in the area of the club house in Yosemite Springs Park. A report taken. Close the case.

Coarsegold burglary, narcotics
On Tuesday, Apr. 18 at 10:12 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 30000 block of Yosemite Springs Parkway regarding suspicious activity. The deputy contacted the subject in question who was on active probation and was later arrested for narcotic violations and burglary. Forward the case to the Madera DA for charges. Forward to Fresno County Probation for violation of probation.

Oakhurst mail theft
On Tuesday, Apr. 18 at 11:53 a.m. an individual reported theft of mail on the 51000 block of Road 423. A report was taken.

Coarsegold mail theft
On Tuesday, Apr. 18 at 2:04 p.m. a deputy was dispatched regarding a report of a mail theft from the area of Ranger Circle / Revis Road in YLP. A report taken. Close the case.

North Fork Coroner’s case
On Tuesday, Apr. 18 at 2:41 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 32000 block of Mountain Lane regarding a Coroner’s case. A report was written and forwarded to the Chief Coroner’s Office for follow up.

North Fork mail theft
On Tuesday, Apr. 18 at 4:20 p.m. a deputy was dispatched regarding stolen mail from the area of Road 274/ Gentle Way in North Fork. A report was taken. Close the case due to lack of investigative leads.

North Fork juvenile sexually assaulted
On Tuesday, Apr. 18 at 10:12 p.m. deputies were dispatched regarding a sexual assault of a female juvenile. It was determined the sexual assault occurred in the 55000 block of Via View Drive, in the early morning hours of Apr. 16.  The initial report will be forwarded to detectives for further investigation.

Oakhurst fraud
On Wednesday, Apr. 19 at 8:10 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the block of 42000 Old Yosemite Road regarding unlawful use of a Discover Card. The victim requested a report for documentation. Refer report closed.

Oakhurst student with knife
On Wednesday, Apr. 19 at approximately 9 a.m. a school employee advised a deputy that a student reported that another student had a knife on the bus on the way to school. The school administrator and the School Resource Deputy contacted the student who had the knife in the school office. The administrator did a safety search on the student and a folding knife was located in the students front pants
pocket. The student was arrested and transported to Madera County Juvenile Hall. The school is located at the 50000 Block of Road 427.

Oakhurst warrant citation
On Wednesday, Apr. 19 at 9:16 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the block of 40000 Jean Road East regarding a suspicious person. The subject had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant for his arrest. He was cited and released. Refer report closed.

North Fork public intoxication
On Wednesday, Apr. 19 at 11:35 a.m. a deputy was ispatched to the block of 57000 Road 225 regarding a subject who had fallen over and was possibly intoxicated. The subject was not able to care for himself and has an extensive history of being under the influence. He was arrested and transported to MDOC without incident. Refer to the D.A’s office for charges.

Coarsegold check fraud
On Thursday, Apr. 20 at 7:16 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the block of 46000 Road 417 regarding check fraud. A report was taken for documentation. Refer report closed until further leads develop.

Oakhurst assault
On Thursday, Apr. 20 at 9:56 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the block of 45000 Road 200 regarding an assault. The reporting party requested that charges be filed. Requesting this report be forward to the D.A’s office for review of charges.

O’Neals theft of tools from school
On Thursday, Apr. 20 at 11:19 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the block of 45000 Road 200 regarding theft of tools from the school. Report taken for documentation. Refer report suspended until further leads develop.

Coarsegold money stolen by ex-husband
On Thursday, Apr. 20 at midnight a deputy was dispatched to the block of 37000 CA-41 regarding money stolen from the business by an ex-husband. The victim requested a report and to forward this report to the DA’s office.

Coarsegold vehicle stop, narcotics, warrant
On Friday, Apr. 21 at 2:10 a.m. a deputy conducted a vehicle stop on CA-41 and Road 416. The driver of the vehicle was arrested for an outstanding warrant from Kings County, and for being in possession of drug paraphernalia. All evidence was collected and booked at the sheriff’s office. The driver was released with a citation and a report was written. Case forwarded to the DA’s office for charges.

Coarsegold mail theft
On Friday, Apr. 21 at 1:34 p.m. a deputy responded regarding a theft report. The reporting party said unknown subjects took three parcels from a mailbox cluster located in the 30000 block of Club House Drive in Coarsegold. No further leads. Case closed.

Oakhurst aggravated assault by a juvenile under the influence
On Friday, Apr. 21 at 10:09 p.m. deputies were dispatched to the 50000 block of Road 426 regarding a subject who made entry into a residence, with the residents inside. Upon arrival it was determined the juvenile subject who had made entry to the house was a friend, but was under the influence of a narcotic and extremely combative. The juvenile began fighting with deputies until he was detained with the help
of the homeowner. The juvenile continued to be combative and kick the inside of the deputies unit until he was restrained on a gurney and transported to Madera Community Hospital where was treated. The juvenile was later booked into Madera Juvenile Hall.

Coarsegold dispute and intoxication
On Saturday, Apr. 22 at 7:14 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the area of CA-41 and Lucky Lane regarding a verbal between a husband and wife while leaving the casino. The male reportedly was intoxicated and jumped out of their vehicle while traveling southbound on CA-41. She did not know her husband’s whereabouts and was concerned for his welfare. The husband was later located and agreed to go home with his wife without further incident. This case has been closed.

Coarsegold theft of dirt bikes
On Sunday, Apr. 23 at 1:37 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to a residence regarding a report of a burglary. Two dirt bike motor-cycles were taken from the resident’s open garage. The victim later informed the deputy that the stolen motor-cycles were returned by unknown person(s). The victim did not wish to have the case investigated and did not want to seek prosecution. This case has been closed.

North Fork warrant arrest
On Sunday, Apr. 23 at 3:56 a.m. an individual was contacted while standing at the end of a driveway at a residence located within the 55000 block of Road 200. A record check determined he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The subject was placed into custody and transported to the Madera County Jail. This case has been closed.

Oakhurst stolen motorcycle and pursuit
On Sunday, Apr. 23 at 6:33 p.m. a deputy was flagged down in the area of Royal Oaks Drive and CA-41, regarding a report of an unreported stolen motorcycle just seen traveling on Royal Oaks Drive from CA-41. The motorcycle was taken from the victim’s residence during an unreported burglary. During the investigation the suspect was seen and identified by the victim riding past on the stolen motorcycle. A pursuit ensued ending at a closed cattle guard gate at the end of Pine Ridge Road in Oakhurst. The suspect fled the scene on foot, leaving the stolen motorcycle behind. The suspect was not located at the time of this investigation. The stolen motorcycle was recovered the released to the victim. This case has been forwarded to the Madera County DA’s Office for the filing of related charges.

Oakhurst danger to self
On Sunday, Apr. 23 at 7:43 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 41000 block of Old Barn Way regarding an overdose. After deputies arrived on scene a female subject was placed on a mental health evaluation hold.

Coarsegold danger to self
On Monday, Apr. 17 at 10:55 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 42000 block of Road 415, regarding a elderly female who is a mentally ill who refusing to take her medication and had hit her sister in the arm. Upon arrival the deputy contacted the subject and it was determined she was placed on a mental health evaluation hold. She was transported a medical facility.
