Lorene Dunn passed away on the evening of Sept. 14, 2016, at home surrounded by her family.
Lorene was born on Jan. 29, 1925, in Spiro, Okla. She traveled with her family from Oklahoma as a child during the Great Depression, settling in Chowchilla in the 1930’s.
Lorene was a long time resident of Chowchilla where she met the love of her life, Herbert Dunn, married and raised a family. She then relocated to North Fork with her daughter in 2003.
She is survived by her son, Larry Dunn; daughter-in-law Carol Dunn; daughter, Linda Pelkey; Grandchildren Casey Pelkey, Crystal Pelkey and Vienna Gleason; great-granddaughter, Bailey Pelkey, sister Dema and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lorene was an avid quilter and seamstress. She won many awards and ribbons for her creations.
Lorene Dunn will be remembered for her kind and loving spirit, and will be forever missed by her family and friends. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at the Chowchilla cemetery on Friday, Sept. 23, at 11 a.m. There will be a celebration of life following at the VFW Hall in Chowchilla.
