Ethos Live Screen Printing at Mariposa Butterfly Festival

MARIPOSA – Ethos Youth Center is excited to announce they’ll be doing live screen printing at the Mariposa Butterfly Festival this weekend, Saturday, May 2 and 3. Customers will have the unique opportunity to not only see a shirt or hat of of their choice made before their eyes, they will even be able print their own shirt!

Adult and child shirts will be available as well as one size fits all hats. There will be a variety of designs to choose from including an incredible butterfly graphic, designed for this event by local designer Kathryn Kelly. Staff at Ethos Youth Center can’t wait to unveil it on Saturday.

Ethos flyer butterfly fest 2015The goal for Ethos Youth center this weekend is to share the Social Impact Project (screen printing program) with the community and to raising much needed funds for the Youth Center. The Youth Center’s second adjoined booth will have an “everyone is a winner” wheel, as well as offer shade, fresh popcorn, other snacks, non-alcoholic beverages and music. We want the environment to feel welcoming for everyone to come relax out of the sun, grab an inexpensive snack and watch the magic of screen printing, all while raising support and funds for Ethos Youth Center.

Ethos Youth Center is a non-profit organization located just walking distance from Mariposa High School. It is funded by grants and the Social Impact Project (screen printing program).

Screen printing 3Ethos Youth Center and Social Impact Project is partnership with local businesses leaders, community members and the Ethos youth. By bridging intergenerational gaps, the Social Impact Project promotes respect and collaborative partnerships between adults and youth in our community.

The Social Impact Project is the a youth led social entrepreneurship program. Social entrepreneurship utilizes business techniques to find solutions to social problems. As a community to we recognize the need for more jobs, skill-set development and positive engagement for Mariposa’s youth people. The Social Impact Project utilizes the social entrepreneurship business model by promoting healthy youth development and by offering an opportunity for young people to become invested in something they can be proud of.

Screen printing 4Through the Social Impact Project, youth will build life & job skills, avoid risky behavior, collaborate with other youth and community members, build self-esteem and express themselves. The Social Impact project supports entrepreneurial behavior as young people pioneer innovative ideas and bring them to life all while providing local businesses and community members with an opportunity to purchase screen printed T-shirts with their own original graphic design created by Mariposa County Youth.

This Saturday and Sunday come find the Ethos booth, make a shirt and spin the wheel for Mariposa County Youth! The booths will be located next to the Alpaca petting zoo.
