OAKHURST – Exciting news for fans of little league and families who enjoy a good kids event. On Saturday, June 8, insiders at Sierra Mountain Little League invite the community to attend their season Closing Ceremonies at 9 a.m.
Following ceremonies and announcements is the highly anticipated SMLL “Carni-ball” Carnival from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Little League field.1st Place winners, Home Run Hitters and All-Stars Team will be announced, a special event those in the know say is a “really big deal.” An exhibition game will be taking place as the Carni-ball booths open up. Tickets for games and booths start at 25 cents.
Visitors can expect games including obstacle courses, traditional sack races, balloon/dart toss, Hula Hoop contest, pitching games and a batting cage. An old-fashioned dunk tank is sure to be occupied by local luminaries and the word is out — dunk your favorite coach or board member.
Supernaw’s BBQ is cooking pulled pork and chicken sandwiches and Round Table Pizza will be serving up pizza for the event, all available at the booths.
With temps rising, guests can delight in snow cones and other treats, though many expect the dunk tank to be among the most popular items on the to-do list.
