Lenora Donovan Brotsis Deck passed away peacefully on Dec. 10, 2017, while in residence at the Oakhurst Healthcare & Wellness Centre.
Lenora was born in Fresno, Calif., on Nov. 11, 1929. She moved to Oakhurst in 1991 and was very involved in volunteering throughout our mountain communities to include: MySham for the Love of Dogs training and care, The Red Hat Society, La Sierra Guild (Children’s Hospital), Sierra Lions Club and Oakhurst Mountain Lions Club.
Lenora had a zest for life and an unforgettable spirit.
She is survived by her daughter Gail Hawksworth of Ahwahnee; her son and daughter–in-law, Bill and Barbara Brotsis; sister Shirley Lee Donovan; granddaughter and son-in-law Cindy and Ken Letson; grandchildren Jake Brotsis and Hannah Brotsis; great-grandchildren Brittany Letson, Breana Letson, Katherine Plait, Bruce Plait, and Mikayla Plait.
She is preceded in death by husbands William Brotsis and Floyd Deck, sisters Donna and Joy, and her grandson Robert (Rob/Robbie) Plait.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 16, at 11 a.m. at the Oakhurst Lutheran Church on Road 426.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers or plants, donations be made in Lenora’s memory to La Sierra Guild, P.O. Box 956, Oakhurst, CA 93644.
