Lady Mustangs: Minarets Soccer United

By Samantha Clay and Hannah Flanagan —

MINARETS — The lady Mustangs’ soccer team of Minarets High School is looking very promising this season. Just within our first few weeks of practice and our scrimmage against Firebaugh last month, we have come together and formed a collaborative team.

We pulled a glorious victory and a great redemption for last seasons First Varsity Playoffs, which was held at Minarets High school. Both Junior Varsity and Varsity teams won 5-0!

“We have collaborated our hearts, minds, and talents,” says Coach Michelle Shattuck. “We have high hopes and great expectations for this 2016-17 season. We have amazing talent this year!”

Coach continues, “We see great things happening with both JV and Varsity teams. I mostly love to see the passion and love for the game flourish and shine from the hearts of these young ladies. I’m excited to see and mentor college ball potentials. Go Mustangs!”

This year our motto is ‘Minarets Soccer United’, as evidenced by having JV and Varsity practice together for the first time, practicing fundamentals and teamwork as a whole. This will be a fun season!
