NORTH FORK – JoAnn Griffin, a former teacher at North Fork School, is ready to give up her home of 50 years on Wild Rose Lane.

She is moving to The Wyndham Retirement Home in Fresno, where she will be closer to to two of her four offspring.

To give friends and former students a chance to say goodbye, family members are hosting a potluck luncheon on Saturday, Aug. 1, at Grace Community Church — located at 56442 Rd 200, just south of North Fork.

JoAnn is a well-loved resident of North Fork. Hundreds of past students remember her fondly. She’s been active in many community groups, with a special interest in Grace Community Church, prisoner support programs, the library, animal rescue groups and other favorite causes.

Always with a warm heart, JoAnn reached out to hundreds of people who needed help in one form or another.

The potluck luncheon is open to JoAnn’s friends and past students. Those planning to attend are encouraged to call Sarah Rah at 559-706-9310, so the family will have an idea of how many people to expect.
