Jazz Jam At North Fork Studio

NORTH FORK – Back by popular demand, the North Fork Studio is hosting the third annual Jazz Jam fundraiser on Saturday, Dec. 27, from 2 to 4 p.m. This year’s event will feature clarinet, flute, bass, guitar, drums, voice and ukulele.

This is a potluck so bring your favorite dish. Come and enjoy great music, delicious food, good friends, and have a wonderful time.

It all started when Barbara Ulman discovered that her brother Barry had gone to school with John Kilburn at Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA. Not only that, they learned that Barry had played the clarinet in John’s senior composition recital.

So two years ago, when Barry visited from Bellingham, Barbara invited some jazz musicians to her house for a Music and Munchies party. Barry, John and several others improvised so well together, they decided to share it with more people.

The second year, the Jazz Jam threatened to overfill Barbara’s living room. So this year she’s inviting everyone to join them in North Fork at the Studio, where there’s more room.

All proceeds will benefit the North Fork Studio and all donations are tax-deductible. The North Fork Studio is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community center located next to the library in downtown North Fork at 32908 Road 222.

The Jazz Jam is family-friendly and alcohol free. There is no charge to attend, but the Studio is asking for a recommended $10 donation per person.

For more information, call John Kilburn at 877-4196.
