OAKHURST – Twenty three guitarists and eight bass players from across the United States, Canada and Germany will be performing in a Jazz Guitar Concert on Thursday, June 26, from 7 to 9:30 pm.
The event will be held at the Queens Inn Wine & Beer Garden, 41193 Highway 41 in Oakhurst, located behind the Sweetwater Steakhouse. Admission is free.
The concert is the grand finale of an annual five-day Yosemite Jazz Workshop being held June 22-27, at Evergreen Conference Center in Oakhurst. This is the 11th jazz workshop hosted by local jazz guitarist Rich Severson, sponsored by his guitar instruction company GuitarCollege.com.
This year’s special guest artist/instructor is Frank Potenza (www.FrankPotenza.com), Professor and Chair of the Jazz Guitar Program at the Thornton School of Music at the USC.
Performances will also include Severson and his guest artist/instructors bassist Todd Johnson from Phoenix (www.ToddJohnsonMusic.com), guitarist Mike Dana, Chairman of the Music Department at Fresno City College. and drummer Gary Newmark also from Fresno, along with all the workshop participants.
Artist’s CDs will be available to purchase that night.
