4th of July Boat Parade, Bass Lake (Visit Yosemite Madera County)

BASS LAKE — Fireworks and festivities are back at Bass Lake again this year for the 4th of July celebrations. At The Pines Resort, Independence Day revelers can look forward to a scrumptious BBQ, live music and a party with a spectacular display of fireworks that may seem to double the pleasure as they reflect on the beautifully full lake.

The band Niteflite takes the Gazebo Deck stage at The Pines Resort, while the fireworks show is presented by the Bass Lake Chamber of Commerce to begin at dusk. Niteflite plays a mix of old school, Latin, country and western, rock, jazz, and blues. Doors at The Pines open at 6 p.m. for dinner service from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The event is open to the public — you don’t need to be a resort guest to attend.

The cost for adults is $64.95, seniors 55+ are $54.95 and the price for children age four to 12 is $34.95. Please note that, due to the business of the Independence Day holiday, all parking on The Pines Resort property will be timed and reserved for patrons only. Day visitors will be asked to park off property. For more information, phone (800) 350-7463.

If your goal is to be IN the lake, you’ll want to know about the 4th of July Boat Parade at Bass Lake. In what’s referred to as an “ultimate boat decorating showdown,” boaters on all manner of vessel may take home bragging rights, should they win a prize, and truthfully, bragging rights apply even if they don’t.

The parade starts near the entrance to Willow Cove at 7 p.m. Boats will then parade towards The Pines, then loop around in front of The Forks and head back toward the dam. Judging will take place in front of the Miller’s Landing Marina between 7:30 and 8 p.m. There is no charge to enter the parade. Contact Miller’s Landing Resort at Bass Lake for more information and to enter the parade.

The fireworks show can be seen from The Pines Resort down towards the falls to The Forks Resort, and you can watch from either side of the lake. There is no fee to attend the fireworks show, however, parking will be at a premium so plan accordingly. Please remember that, aside from this sanctioned show, all fireworks — even “safe and sane” — are prohibited at Bass Lake and all of the surrounding mountain areas.
