HOW Dinner Honors Nina Costella

OAKHURST — The local chapter of the nonprofit organization Helping One Woman (HOW) will meet on Wednesday, May 17, in the gymnasium at Yosemite High School, in support of Nina Costella.

Nina’s beloved daughter Shania Faith Costella, a YHS student, was lost in a tragic auto accident on Jan. 7, at just 16 years old.

“I can’t imagine what this must feel like,” say HOW organizers. “We’d like to bless Nina by showing our love and support as she struggles with life’s challenges and heartache.”

Shania was quoted as having said, “never take life for granted.”

Those participating in the HOW benefit will offer $10 or more as a suggested donation for Nina. There is no charge for dinners, but there will be a charge for beverages of $1 each. Organizers are requesting pot luck for dessert.

Proceeds from the event go directly to Nina at the end of the evening.

HOW says that “one woman with $10 can buy another woman lunch. Ten women giving $10 can buy another woman’s groceries. One hundred women giving $10 can make a real difference in another woman’s life.”

Items contributed for the raffle can be dropped off at Tokens Gift & Thrift shop, Just Bisque It Ceramics, or Got Hair Salon, all in Oakhurst. If you’d like a pick-up, please call Wanda at (925) 234-1513.

The menu at Yosemite High School on the night of the dinner is vegetarian spaghetti, bread and salad. Please RSVP to Nancy Fikkert at (559) 658-5428 at Tokens or Wanda at the number above.
