MARIPOSA COUNTY – Crews were dispatched to numerous reports of a fire on Usona Road between Indian Peak Road and Boulder Ridge Road, just after 8 a.m. this morning.
When firefighters arrived, they found a house fully involved. The fire also spread into the vegetation, charring three-quarters of an acre before the forward progress was stopped.
The fire was contained about an hour after engines arrived. The structure was total loss.
Crews will remain on scene for several more hours to do mopup in the vegetation and cool down the destroyed home, which reportedly still has quite a bit of heat.
A Cal Fire investigator is en route to the incident, and the cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
No injuries were reported.
UPDATE; Fire was called controlled at 1:38 p.m. and resources were released, come to the new fire on Triangle Road, reported at 12:06 p.m.
