The History Mystery #14

The three-story building in this color photograph appears to be for a business, but note the plants on the railing of the second story. Is it both residence and business? Is the building abandoned? Where is this structure located? Is the lower story made of brick and the upper one (ones?) made of lumber?

The photograph was made from a slide probably taken in the 1960s. If you know this building or have any information about it, write us a comment at the bottom of this page and share what you know about it. Or, write to us at northforkhistorygroup@gmail.com because we “…gather, preserve and share the history of a community.”

With your help we might solve.. the February History Mystery of 2014.

We would like to thank all of the people who posted comments. We had two on the Sierra News Online page and two on a facebook post.

Two people thought it was the Spinelli barn located off of the Spinelli road and two people thought it was the Rosebury Barn in Knowles.

There is another barn on the road to Bailey Flats that resembles the barn in the picture so we will be visiting these three barns to do more investigating. We did find out that these barns are still standing and two of them are still in use.
