Historical Items Stolen From Sugar Pine Railroad

FISH CAMP — The Madera County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in recovering what are being described as priceless artifacts stolen from the Yosemite Mountain Sugar Pine Railroad museum in Fish Camp.

Earlier this week, the following items were reported stolen from the Railroad:

  • One antique circa 1900s locomotive draw bar was stolen from outside the museum. Note: this item is extremely heavy.
  • One antique locomotive ID badge was stolen from inside the museum. The badge is brass and displays “3306 LIMA LOCOMOTIVE WORKS INCORPORATED FEBRUARY 1927” on the front. Note: the badge was actually on a train that once ran on site and is an important Madera County historical artifact.

If you have any information regarding the whereabouts of one or both of these items, please contact Madera County Sheriff’s Office at (559) 675-7770. Callers may remain anonymous.

The Railroad and the Sheriff’s Office are asking the public to “please help us recover these important pieces of Madera County history.”
