Highway 41 Closed North Of Fresno Due To Fatal Crash

MADERA COUNTY — Highway 41 is closed north of Fresno between Children’s Blvd. and Avenue 12 due to a fatal crash.

Just after 3 p.m., CHP was reportedly pursuing a vehicle that failed to yield, and led law enforcement on a high-speed chase north out of Fresno on Highway 41.

CHP tells ABC30 that the officer disengaged in dense traffic but the female suspect continued at high speed, sideswiping another car, then crossing the median and slamming into a pickup just south of Avenue 12.

The highway is expected to be closed for several hours as the investigation is conducted. Traffic is being detoured at Children’s Blvd. and at Avenue 12 onto the Highway 41 business loop.

We will update as more information becomes available.
