Highway 41 Closed Due To Fatal Accident

COARSEGOLD – A fatal crash between a truck and a motorcycle has closed Highway 41 between Serpa Canyon and Road 420.

Southbound traffic is being turned around at Road 420 on the north, and at Serpa Canyon on the south. The accident happened near the Broken Bit.

No estimate has been given for reopening the roadway. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes.

Southbound traffic can go across Road 420 to Road 223, turn right over to Road 221, turn right again to Road 200, turn right to head south. To avoid the dirt road, go back to Oakhurst, take Road 426 across Teaford and follow the same directions.

Northbound traffic can go back to Coarsegold and take Road 415 to Road 600 and go north to Highway 49. Road 600 comes out just east of Ahwahnee, and is a very winding road.
