Glacier Point Road Opens For Season In Yosemite

YOSEMITE — The Glacier Point Road in Yosemite National Park will open for the season to automobile traffic on, Tuesday, Apr. 19, at 9 a.m.

The Glacier Point Store will not be open yet, but sources say it should open in early May. Vault toilets will be available for visitors before then.

Bridalveil Creek Campground is closed, and will open for the season in the next several weeks, according to the the Park.

 

Meanwhile, there is snow at most trailheads and on the trails. Visitors are urged to use caution when hiking. Additionally, visitors are urged to drive slowly and with caution, as wildlife may be present on or near the roadway.

The Tioga Road, the popular east-west crossing of the Sierra Nevada in the northern portion of Yosemite, remains closed at this time. Currently, there is no anticipated opening date for the Tioga Road.
