GCT Presents Classic Children's Story

OAKHURST – Early reviews are in and the word is, “go!” to the Golden Chain Theater production of “The Secret Garden,” which plays on Fridays May 10 & 17, Saturdays May 11 & 18, at 7 p.m.

One matinee performance will take place on Sunday, May 19, at 2 p.m. Theater-goers please note that the house will be dark on Mother’s Day.“The Secret Garden” is a classic children’s coming-of-age story with the play adapted by Tim Kelly, based on the novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett.

The Golden Chain Theater production of “The Secret Garden” is directed by Patti Law Poggi.

The story follows orphaned “Mary Lennox” as she becomes the ward of an English uncle she has never met. Adjusting to a new life at secluded Misselthwaite Manor, Mary discovers a secret walled garden and a set of mysterious circumstances.

Behind the garden walls lies the potential for love and salvation, if only she can melt the heart of her emotionally distant uncle.

The show features many young actors and is suitable for audiences of all ages.

Adult admission is $12, seniors are $10. Card-carrying members of the Met Cinema, along with children age 4-12 are $6. Younger children are free.
