Free CPR & First Aid Training In Oakhurst

MADERA COUNTY — Now is the time to learn CPR before summer activities take friends and family into vacation spots that may be far from medical help.

The Madera County Public Health Department is sponsoring free CPR & First Aid training in Oakhurst and Chowchilla, and the public is encouraged to attend.

The first class will take place on Saturday, Apr. 9, at the Oakhurst Branch Library Community Room, 49044 Civic Circle Drive, from noon to 4 p.m.

For mountain area residents who can’t make that date work in their schedule, a second opportunity will be available in the valley on Saturday, Apr. 23, at the Chowchilla Branch Library, Ginsburg Community Room, 300 Kings Avenue, from noon to 4 p.m.

These free classes are made possible by Madera County Public Health Department Emergency Preparedness Grants. Call Health Education Specialist Marisol Torres at (559) 675-7893 and reserve your spot.

If you want this important training and can’t make one of these classes, or are involved in a group that would like trainers to put on a class for your organization, please call Bill or Gina Hartley of Minarets Medical Education at 559-658-1052 or 559-760-0655, or email hartburns2010@yahoo.com to arrange for training. Visit them on their website at Minarets Medical Education or on their Facebook page.
