Firefighters Contain Jerseydale Fire In Mariposa County

MARIPOSA COUNTY — Firefighters have contained the Jerseydale fire, and are moving into mopup stage as some resources are being released.

The fire was reported as an escaped burn pile at about 1:30 p.m. this afternoon, burning in Forest Service jurisdiction just off Jerseydale Road between Scott Creek and Plumber Creek Road.

Sierra National Forest, Cal Fire, and Mariposa County Fire personnel were assigned to the incident.

Crews had a hose lay around the fire by 2:30 p.m., and tied in the hand line by 4:15 p.m. The fire was contained at 5:15 p.m. at just under an acre.

Cal Fire is investigating.
