Fire In Bootjack Contained In Less Than 10 Minutes

MARIPOSA COUNTY — Firefighters were called out to reports of a vegetation fire in the Bootjack area, near the 3500 block of Rocky Hollow Lane.

The fire was reported at about 2:32 p.m. Nine engines from Cal Fire and Mariposa County Fire, two dozers and two ground crews were dispatched, along with Air Attack, two air tankers and a helicopter.

The first engine arrived at scene at 2:48 pm., and reported the fire at about 1/4 acre.

By 2:56 p.m., firefighters had the fire contained, and all but one engine and the ground crews were cancelled.

Resources should be committed for about two hours for full control.

The cause of the fire is reportedly an electrical issue.
