Fire Destroys Mobile Home In North Fork

NORTH FORK — A structure fire in North Fork this morning destroyed a home just south of town.

Just after 8 a.m., firefighters were called out to reports of a fire at the end of To-Nobi Way.

Cal Fire Engine 4255 out of Rancheria Station was first on scene, and reported a residential mobile home fully engulfed with threat to several vehicles and the surrounding vegetation.

Engines from Cal Fire, Madera County Fire and Sierra National Forest responded.

Firefighters had the fire contained by 9:20 a.m., and estimated two to three hours for full control and mop-up.

Crews kept the fire contained to the structure and a motorcycle, with no spread into the surrounding vegetation.

The resident was reportedly home at the time the fire broke out, but had to leave the property to call 911. No one was injured.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
