Exhibits And Stories And Music, Oh My!

MARIPOSA — The Mariposa branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) will host a free public program featuring Cara Goger, Executive Director of the Mariposa County Arts Council (MCAC), on Thursday, Apr. 13, at 4:30 p.m. at Miner’s Roadhouse 140.

Ms. Goger will be focusing on the new directions that the MCAC will be taking in the coming year, after an introductory overview. She will be highlighting arts education for children.

Cara Goger

Goger joined the MCAC in 2012 as the Executive Director. She has over ten years working in the fields of Arts Education and Arts Administration. Prior to her work at the Arts Council, she served as the primary artist-in-residence for the Museum of Photographic Arts in San Diego.

Additionally, she has worked with a nonprofit arts-based organization providing photography-based educational programming to refugee and displaced youth in California.

A graduate of Mariposa County High School, Cara earned a B.A. in Political Science/Foreign Policy from Sonoma State University and a M.A. in Political Science/International Relations from San Diego State University.

No tickets, RSVPs, or other requirements are needed for this event. While many community members may be familiar with the Arts Council events themselves, this presentation will give attendees a unique perspective and a new-found appreciation the next time they attend one of Mariposa County Arts Council’s many events throughout our community.

With so many fantastic events in the greater Mariposa area on the agenda for the spring and summer, let this free public program be your jumping off point!

This event is just one of several school and community programs offered by Mariposa AAUW, a branch of the 133-year-old national organization dedicated to advancing equity and lifelong learning for women and girls. For more information, visit www.aauwmariposa.com.
