Audubon Field Trip to Foresta in Yosemite
May 20, 2017, 7:45 am – 1:30 pm
Join us for our Spring outing to Foresta in Yosemite NP, aka Big Meadow. We will begin in El Portal and make stops along the Merced River corridor to look for Peregrine Falcons and Black Swifts. We’ll spend most of our time afoot in Foresta looking for woodpecker species, raptors, dippers, swifts and warblers, covering approximately 2 miles of remarkably diverse habitats. We’ll carpool into the park. Yosemite Conservancy will supply entrance fee waivers. Approximate end time is 1-1:30 pm back in El Portal.
MEET: Yosemite Conservancy office, 5020 El Portal Rd. by the post office and the historic trains in El Portal. We can use the bathroom there and there’s a shop nearby if people need coffee, gas or supplies. Foresta has no restrooms or services.
Bring: Binoculars, water, snacks/lunch, layered clothing

Contact information: Pete Devine, Resident Naturalist, Yosemite Conservancy, 209/379-2321 ext. 12. Please register with pdevine@yosemiteconservancy.org
