Evacuation Order For Hunters Valley Due To Fire

MARIPOSA COUNTY – A 40-acre fire burning in the Hunters Valley area of Mariposa County has prompted an evacuation order.

The Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office has issued an alert and evacuation order from the 7900 block of Hunters Valley Road to Bear Valley Road, Bear Valley Rd from Hunters Valley Road to the 4400 block / top of the ridge of Bear Valley Rd.

An evacuation advisement is in effect from the 4500 block of Bear Valley Road to Highway 49 North.

Road Closures: Hunters Valley Road at Bear Valley Road and Hunters Valley Access Road at Bear Valley Rd.

The Red Cross Evacuation Center is located at 4565 Cornetts Entrance Road, Cathey’s Valley Baptist Church.

CHP is at the scene for traffic control, and everyone is being asked to please avoid the area.

The location of the fire is Hunters Valley Road at Firehouse Road.
