Driver Arrested After Deadwood Crash

OAKHURST – A collision on Deadwood yesterday resulted in the arrest of an Oakhurst woman for driving under the influence of narcotics.

At 1:02 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 6, Jill Reich, 53, of Oakhurst, was pulling out from a driveway near the address of 38890 Highway 41, about a mile south of Oakhurst, when she failed to yield to oncoming traffic.Reich was driving 2001 gold Ford Taurus, and Marlo Jordan, 45, also of Oakhurst, was a passenger in the car.

Deadwood 1-6-13 White ChevyAccording to CHP, Reich proceeded into the southbound lane of Highway 41 directly into the path of a 1998 Chevy Cavalier, driven by Keith Treadaway, 19, of Coarsegold. Treadaway hit the brakes and attempted to avoid the Taurus, but slammed into the driver’s side of Reich’s car, spinning it into the northbound lane.

CHP, Cal Fire and Sierra Ambulance all responded to the crash, which backed up traffic through Deadwood for over an hour, as the scene was cleared.

Reich was transported to Madera Community Hospital with minor injuries, where she was determined to be under the influence of narcotics, and placed under arrest, according to the CHP. Reich was booked into the Madera County Jail.
