O’NEALS — My name is MadaLynn Rocha. I am a junior at Minarets High School, and I have a dream to end cancer. Every year the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society(LLS) holds an annual seven week campaign that specially selected students from the Central Valley participate in. I have been honored to participate alongside my best friend, Hunter Olson from University High School.
We wish to share this journey with you and ask of your support. Seeing that we both come from small schools, we want to show that size doesn’t matter; determination does. We are determined to gain your support in our journey of helping LLS battle blood cancers. We are determined to prove that our ‘small schools’ can make a big difference. Your support will help fund research for new cures and aid patients and their families as they fight these diseases.
Our team decided to take part in the LLS’s Student of the Year campaign because we both have had family members and friends suffer from various forms of cancers.
Although we have personal ties to these diseases, we have decided to dedicate our campaign to every patient currently going through treatment or in remission. The people going through the battle of their lifetime are people we love. They are everywhere in the world. As a community, we are responsible to open our eyes and help. Here is your chance to help.
Our team goal is to raise $50,000 dollars during our campaign (Feb. 15th – April 6th). With your help, our goal will be a success.
There are three main ways you contribute to our mission:

- Donate goods or services for the LLS Student of the Year Grand Finale
- Share our message and goal with your own friends and family – social media works very well (i.e Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, etc.)!
