Deputies Capture 3 Suspected Fuel Thieves

MADERA – A trio of suspected thieves from Fresno are now behind bars in Madera County. Bail has been set at $10,000 for each suspect, according to a Madera County Sheriff’s Department press release.

Sheriff John Anderson believes the two men and a woman are connected to a fuel theft ring.Deputies were tipped off shortly after midnight Tuesday, Oct. 9, about the possible sale of stolen fuel at a Madera location, Anderson reported.

The deputies responded to a location on Avenue 7, east of State Highway 99, and arrested Uy Santomasso, 25, of Fresno. She allegedly had arranged to meet someone who could supply her car with a full tank of gas, according to the press release.

Yadwinder Singh VirkSantomasso was found to be driving on a suspended license. She also allegedly was in possession of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and several pieces of personal property reported stolen out of Fresno.

Kulvir SinghThe man she was supposed to meet was Yadwinder Virk, 23, of Fresno. He and his passenger, Kulvir Singh, 29, also of Fresno, had been arrested hours earlier on Avenue 17 near Rodeo Drive, Anderson stated. They were booked for possession of narcotics and burglary tools.
